The following tips should be followed when suppling art on disk, by email "info at parapresents.com" or by ftp (please call for instructions). We accept, ZIP, Syquest, Jazz or CD. Para operates in a Macintosh environment.

GENERAL

Include a hard copy of your art; both a composite and color separations. Use a blue or red pen(cil) to indicate critical print positions, perfs, numbering, folds, etc. If sending your file(s) by email, you must supply a pdf proof of both the composite file and separations. QUARK users: Always try and use default H&J settings when possible. CLEARLY INDICATE IF YOU HAVE USED CUSTOM SETTINGS.

FONTS

List all fonts used within your layout and eps art. If your work is Mac based, include all your fonts with the art file. Remember to include all components (screen and printer fonts). Font substitutions could affect line lengths and line breaks. If position is critical, indicate that fact on the hard copy and convert the fonts to outlines before sending us the file. This will ensure exact placement according to your specifications.

IMAGES / COLOR

Scan line art at 600 dpi or higher for optimum quality. All grayscale or color images should be saved at 300 dpi (150 lpi) and should be imported at 100%, (give or take 10%). Rotate, scale and crop images before importing into your layout. Images for four colour process jobs must be saved as CMYK tiff or eps format; images for inkjet output should be saved as RGB. Add 60% cyan to large solid black areas to achieve a richer black. When colors are touching, a .25 pt (2 pixel or .02 inches) trap must be used on all files.

IBM USERS

We support cross platform documents created in PageMaker, XPress, InDesign, Illustrator, FreeHand, Photoshop, Word and Acrobat. If you are working in COREL DRAW, export the file as an Adobe Illustrator or eps document. Ensure that the document is created with an 8 bit color header, "text as curves" and an export resolution of 300 dpi.
